Awning windows
Awning windows open outward hinged on the top, it is operated by using a crank. This window can allow ventilation even in the rainy season. Made of durable material, this window is a great combination of both style and convenience. It is often installed above other windows or even doors. Because they open outward the window type should not be installed on walkways or traffic areas, as it could obstruct the path.
Double-hung and single-hung windows
It is one of the most commonly used window types. The only difference between the two types of window tracks are, the single hung has a fixed upper sash and a movable lower sash, whereas the double-hung window has both movable upper and lower sash. 
This window offers you great ventilation as the upper and lower sash helps in the airflow both in and out alternately. The cleaning of this window is also quite easy as you can easily get in your hands both inside and outside the window without the use of any ladder or need to go outside. It goes well with almost all locations and offers a classic look to your house.
Picture windows
This is a different style of window. The picture windows do not open; hence it cannot be used in a place where ventilation is required. They are made of large glass panes, often installed in the middle of the wall, to offer you a broad view of nature and allow sunlight. As this window does not open, they are less prone to air leakage, the problem that you often face in other operable window types.
Bay windows
Bay windows are a type of windows that is used to create angles and projections in a building. This is a great source of architecture. Hence it can allow the entry of light from different angles, besides the side bay windows, offers you a great airflow. The large sill attached to the window can be used for seating beside an open window or for keeping plants.
Slider windows
 These are quite popular window types. The slides of the window open in sideways and offer you a crystal-clear view of the outside along with ample ventilation. The large opening and easy operation make it a utility window, that is often installed at basement tops. The simple function of the window makes them the least expensive window type.
